Storm Éowyn Service Update - 12th February
We are taking every possible step and exploring all avenues to accelerate recovery efforts. This includes:
- Deploying all available skilled resources to repairs.
- Bringing in additional contracting resources from across Ireland and the UK, while also exploring further support from Europe. To date, we have brought three new contracting partners on board to help with restoration work.
- Our teams continue to work overtime, including weekends, and additional bonuses have been included to incentivise additional attendance.
- Redeploying skilled resources from other areas e.g. from build and connection work to prioritise restoration efforts.
- Prioritising the worst-affected areas to maximise restoration efforts.
Open faults remain five times higher than normal levels, and we expect this to peak by the end of this week before volumes start to decline. New fault arrivals also continue at a much higher rate than normal.
Additionally, we believe there may still be a number of customers who have not reported faults, assuming they will be resolved as part of the wider recovery efforts, it is important that you report any outstanding faults, if you haven't already.
As we work to repair the damage caused by Storm Éowyn a key priority is to restore service for vulnerable customers as quickly as possible. Please ensure vulnerable user faults are reported as soon as possible.
If you are a wholesale customer, we are sending regular updates on faults, contact your account manager to be added to those updates. If you are an individual customer please contact your service provider for further updates.
